You can find out if its stolen or not. If you don't care whether it is stolen, this is a disrespect to the people that were forced out of their homes at gun point.

I we will welcome you to the north... we have property but we have no idea who it belonged to.. agricultural originally.. it could have belonged to Richard the Lionheart.. but my estate agent did not tell us there was a problem.. came here to retire peacefully....

It may be that the 'market' has underestimated this risk but the assment of the 'market' in terms of this risk is made up of an average of many peoples opinions and not just one. Wheather we like it or not there are people out there willing to buy properties in the North who care nothing of the Cyprus problem.

It is like telling me that because you might manage to get away with murder, committing such a crime is not just ok, but you can go in forums and talk about it as well and nobody should even complain. Buying GC property in the occupied Cyprus is illegal, period. Ignorance of the laws is not an excuse for anything, let alone for such a serious offense.

These people have committed an offense and will be prosecuted sooner or later.

The Admin has been contacted regarding this issue and he agreed with me (ask him if you want). He said he will not intervene in this thread since the initial poster didn't ask anything regarding property in occupied areas. However, he confirmed that such kind of discussions can be had only in the "Cyprus problem" forum, since this is a problem and there is nothing OK about it.

Buying former GC property in the nortj is illegal under the South's laws. Under TRNC law, which has jusristiction wheater you like it or not it is not illegal. That is just reality.

The have comitted an offence according to RoC law. Not according to anyone else law. If you really think that there will be a solution and it will involve prosecuting EU citizens and others that have bought property in the North since 74 then you are madder than I thought. These people may be subject to prosecution but personally I doubt it.

Regarding what issue??? Regarding the fact that you have taken a thread totaly off topic and raised an issue that was never there in the first place to suit your own agenda?
