What would happen if...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

two hypotheticlal scenarios:

What would happen if one day

A) GC refugee whose land in the north is uninhabited goes and decides to start building a house?

B) a TC refugee whose land in the south is uninhabited goes and decides to start building a house

I guess they would be stopped by local authorities on both sides but in a perfect world it would be no problem.

According to what I have heard

the GC authorities would allow it - it is part of their official stance that TC are allowed to return whenever they want.

The TC authorities would certainly not allow it, however.

The GC, as a majority, have nothing to lose. And having TCs return would be a great diplomatic victory and a step towards their view of a unified, not federal, Republic of Cyprus.

But then again, what do I know as a complete outsider...

Hi Landjo and welcome to the forum,

we have not spoken yet but what i gather from others posts is you are a lawyer and not cypriot, please do not take to heart some comments as the cyprus problem is a sensitive issue but please do stay involved as a independant and non-involved person you could be of great benefit to all on this forum.

So please tell me more about you, how long have you been a lawyer? have you been in cyprus long? what nationality are you? are you practicing law in cyprus?how old are you?
If you want talk to me through PM.
