Taxi fares

Postby BabySunshine » Thu May 05, 2005 8:27 am

Hi there :o)

I am planning a summer trip to Cyprus with my friend and as we will be arriving early in the morning (3am) we will have to find some kind of transport from the airport to the hotel.
Can someone please tell me how much the standard fare from the airport to Ayia Napa is?
I already contacted a taxi company online but the price they quoted seems high to me (25 cyprus pounds!).

Thanks

For me 25 Cyprus pounds for a nighttransfer from Larnaca to Agia Napa sounds very realistic. I dont think that this is too high.

In fact I've been getting in more quotes over the day today and they are all quoting more expensive fares. So I think I'll go with this taxi service :)

that's the contact if anyone is interested in booking transfer.

It is almost always possible to rent a car for less than that, though...

rent a car

hmmmm so you would rather suggest for me to rent a car?

There usually is a lower age limit though... Does anyone know what the youngest age to rent a car is? And what the usual liability fee is...

Thanks for all your feed back

Depends on the company, some refuse to rent to those under 21 or impose a surcharge for drivers under 25 years old. Again, the liability deposit varies according to the company. I'd suggest you do a google and see what they're charging - most of the major companies have outlets at Larnaka airport.

To be honest, if you're only planning to stay in Agia Napa during your stay and don't intend on travelling anywhere else (you'll be missing out on a lot, but it's your holiday), a hire car will be unnecessary and a waste of money. Better to spend £50 on cabs to and from the airport than having to hire a car for the week (or two) at around £200 a week.

Have a great holiday in Cyprus anyway! :D

just comes to my mind......
Did you book flight and hotel yourself or via a travel-agency? Cause if its the latter and you booked a package, that should usually include the transfer from airport to hotel and back, no matter what time you will arrive.
