Hazza, you should look for any small pools of water around your property... if there are any (and they're on your land) you can put a layer on oil on the water which will kill any larvae... mozzies need water to breed in so that might cure half the problem...

mozzies

Heya.... might I suggest flyscreens on your windows? Rarely have mosquita problems at my place but again, we use the A/C fix supplemented by windowscreens, which are not too expensive. A/C can really dent your electricity bill though.....

Apart from that, have you tried those little machines you plug into the wall with replaceable mats? The machines heat the mats which produce some kind of vapour that supposedly gets rid of them..... plug it in just before you goto sleep. Where I am right now (outside of Cyprus), that's what I do and so far, it's mostly been working.

I think that in Cyprus these little machines are the only effective protection at night. I recommend them.

This little machine seems to be doing the trick (when I remember to change the mat  ) Thanks for the suggestion on that.

I used to have a friend who actually enjoyed letting mosquitoes bite him - he'd watch them land, bite and their belly (or whatever) fill with his blood, then he'd splatter them before they flew off.

He died of malaria a few years back, shame that!

No, I'm not kidding.

He was 34 years old, contracted malaria while he was in South Africa and died from it.

It was terrible because we all knew how he used to mess around letting the mosquitoes bite him, but this was when he lived in the US, and malaria wasn't a problem. I don't think he would have deliberately let them bite him in South Africa, but they did and it killed him.

How ironic is that?

Life is indeed a bitch!
