Netway Fastlane is no longer Fast!

Postby Ruserious » Fri Oct 17, 2008 8:06 am

Does anyone else on the Island use Netway Fastlane? I have noticed that torrents have been throttled to death recently and my downloads have dropped from 250Ks to 50Ks or so! Called them and they say they have made changes - looks like I will also be making a change in ISP! Any recommendations are there any ISP's left that don't kill torrent speeds?

Yep, they have 'made changes' and so have I - to Wavespeed!

Fastlane is back! Netway promised a change and they delivered today torrents are back at 250Ks. Don't write them off yet but next time they should let their customers know of any plans - it would make things less painful and may save them some customers!

I had to get Netway for a month and its not as nearly good as wavespeed. I left my office on saturday leaving SUSE 4.5Gb distro downloading... it was at 100kbps and when i came this evening to get it - it was at 60% downloading at 10kbps!!! They have a very nasty traffic shaping mechanism...cmon this is 21st century!!! and i wasnt even downloading torrents, clean legal traffic.

Unfortunately Wavespeed have let me down this month, i been calling support for 2 days and they were playing a pingpong game between Cyta and Wavespeed where the ball was actually me. The FAULT was definetly theirs but Cablenet technician never solved my problem.

Fastlane's speed was down for a day or two, now seems to be back to full speed (though we'll tomorrow when the traffic will flow in full). But they've started to route all HTTP connection through a proxy once again, too bad. They did it some time before, then cancelled it, but for some reason it's back again here :(

Well Netway have lost a customer in me, lets hope others follow. You can't get away with providing a crap service in the UK & neither should you in Cyprus!

switching from Fastlane to Wavespeed required switching from Primetel back to Cyta, too. To much hassle. Or maybe Wavespeed started to provide their service over Primetel's lines already, does anyone know?
