I would like to see what Rooney would have done if it was his team. Do you think he would have warned the ref politely that he would write an angry letter to Mr Platini ( and say to the sky cameras"oh dear how unfair" ? Of course Ballack was angry after that handball , as it was the FOURTH penalty appeal turned down.I thought he was going to clobber the ref.
If it was a Cypriot team,there would have been a manslaughter charge
The sending off was diabolical, Anelka DID trip himself but again, the referee gave the decision. The linesman and fourth official were playing the 3 monkeys,see,hear and speak no evil.
The whole event was suspect. Why choose a low profile ref from Norway to take charge of a high profile game ? You could see the ref's face after the match ,when all the Chelsea players surrounded him,thinking "Is this worth it, I hope the money has gone into my swiss bank account, and the bmw Z4 from Platini is waiting outside with the engine running".

Come off it mate. The reactions of Ballacks and Droopa were outrageous. No one should (IMO) defend them. No doubt Roomey would have had a say but no way he would have lost it like those two did.
