I'd thought we'd heard the last of Derek 'Degsey' Hatton the scourge of
Maggie Thatcher and the far left firebrand Militant Tendency leader
of Liverpool council in the 80's.

He almost bankrupted the City of Liverpool (allegedly)

Apparently he is a born again capitalist and has surfaced in Cyprus and according to the Daily Mail:

'He's back in the limelight after claiming that Lady Thatcher should have been aborted. But as this investigation reveals the Eighties firebrand is now a fully paid up capitalist making millions from dodgy property deals in Cyprus'

Th article goes onto mention his web-sites Morpheus Investments and buyintocyprus.com.

I have also just read that he is involved in a Russian bid to build Disneyland Cyprus!

Well I never, I would never of expected him to suface in Cyprus. Watch out Cyprus if 'Degsey' is about.

He was a great party go-er in the early 80's ... and I invariably mixed with his crowd at Uni digs/dos. All I can say is that they are all Champagne Socialists now (maybe not even pretending to be "Socialists" ).... but hypocrisy has no finer example than this common man! Shifty eyed-twerp.
