Big Brother Query

Postby garbitsch » Tue May 31, 2005 4:33 pm

Hi guys,
Just want to ask something about BB UK. Why is there some bird sound, when people are talking? I think it's a kind of censoring bad language, but how do they manage to do that, when the BB is broadcasted live? How do they foreguess what people are going to say?

most probably it is transmitted with some minutes delay so they can censor it.....2-3min are enough to do what they have to do...

It is broadcast on a delay, so whenever the housemates are using unallowed swearwords, being slanderous etc. they play the bird sounds...

A live event is legally allowed upto a 15 minute delay. As SK said, it gives them enough time to quieten any possible slanderous comments.

Big brother is as far from reality as you can get now. The first series had relatively 'normal' people on it as was an interesting experiment in itself. Since then, the producers have adopted an attitude of "let's get as many odd people as possible and choose personalities that will clash". All of these people on the show are aware that if they display eccentric and/or outlandish behaviour they will make heaps of money when they get out by appearing in magazines, tv etc. Big Brother is now more about people realising it's an easy route to fame and money than a 'reality' tv show...

No way Thrill, used to be maybe, but not any more. Swearwords are generally accepted from late evening onwards, i.e. 8pm with the only ones not allowed still being c*nt and w*nker. Although it's not out of the question to hear swearwords used earlier. Sex scenes also kick in at about this time, with the only proviso being that you're not allowed to show penetrative sex, or an erect penis. Otherwise, gay sex, lesbian sex etc. etc. is ok.
