Commission for estate agents

Postby Marina2005 » Wed Jun 01, 2005 11:30 am

Hi guys,

I'm planning to sell my house here in Limassol and two estate agents have told me they've got people interested, which is great! But they told me that they charge 5% commission, is that about right or should I tell them less???

That is quite high imo.....

As an educated guess, I would say 2% MAXIMUM.

But then again, whether I am educated is a different question.

That is way to high imo, and i agree that anything more than 2% is ripping you off, and any way under the current climate you could probably sell your house through local papers by advertisement and keep that huge chunk of money for yourself and your family.

Put it to the papers yourself and keep the commision for the family you would have otherwise given to those liars that call them selves estate agents.

ok coz your so kind i will make it 2.8%. jkin if your house in near the beach then try sellin it to developers. they wont develop it or give you the highest amount possible but it will be a quick no hassle sale. give local papers a try. also put it up with different agents. cost nothing becasue you only pay if they sell it
