First I have seen of this thread and 2 things spring immediately to mind.
1) As fish are so scarce in the Eastern Med would it not be best to take a camera instead of a speargun then visit the fish merchant on the way home.
2) As cannedmoose suggests - an alternative method. Just can’t see the Turkish military selling the grenades though, at least not at a decent price. Now if you want a similar option however I’m your man, quarter pound packs of plaster gelatine complete with No. 6 detonators and safety fuse used individually or packed as a beehive charge the size of a 5 gallon drum will do the trick. The beehive charge will also not only drill you a hole into the seabed but also supply you with all the shellfish living under the sand in the vicinity. Just think of the Barbie, I can taste it now.

Just one word of caution Michael... better hope that no unspent ammo was dumped off the coast... could end up swimming with the floating remains of fish, shellfish and half the coastal shelf...
