Re: vehicles to Cyprus

voyou wrote:Sorry everyone.. just to clarify. Can we get a ferry with vehicle to Cyprus? What is the best way? I am currently in Sevilla, Spain but want to take my transit to Cyprus. There seems to be a suspension of ferries. Anyone know why?

It may of course not be worth it and just get a vehicle when I get there. What are car prices like on the island?

I'm new to the forum.. hi to all.

Hi voyou...

There are no ferry services to Cyprus, except for those between Turkey and Northern Cyprus, which wouldn't be the best route to take if you intend staying for any length of time on the island :!:

As for the costs and benefits of taking a vehicle to Cyprus, and car prices these have been dealt with in other threads on this forum...

To make it a bit clearer, if you took your car to Cyprus via the Turkey-Kyrenia route and intended to settle in the southern two-thirds of the island (the area controlled by the Republic of Cyprus government as opposed to the 'Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus'), I feel you would definitely have problems as you would have brought your vehicle onto the island via an 'illegal port of entry'. I'd suggest that you have a flick through the Cyprus Problem section of the forum below if you're not au fait with the political goings-on in Cyprus, they are important and they will have an impact upon you if you live there.

Dear Shadow

you said: Oh God it sounds terrible, why did you come to Cyprus then, why didn't you stay in your country which is so perfect, hey? I wonder!

Russia and Eastern Europe have real social issues with alcoholism and organised crime.
The UK has growing racial problems, too much rain and water shortages.
Cyprus has terrible driving, it has more road related deaths per head than any other EU country except Greece and Portugal.

Have I said any country is perfect? Driving standards in Cyprus are very low, it's a fact, Shadow. 'Why dont you stay in your country which is so perfect, hey?' you ask. Maybe because it is occupied by a foreign army, any other questions?

Surprised this would be a reason to abandon the UK in favour of Cyprus Lana!

Not withstanding recent flash flood events obviously...
