DUBAI UAE, UNITED STATES (UPI) -- DigitalSkys announced Monday that the company has purchased and installed a 5IF broadband IP (Internet Protocol) VSAT networking hub from iDirect Technologies.

The purchase of this hub will enable DigitalSkys to build the next generation IP networking platform with services aimed at Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, and Australia.

The hub will be based at the CYTA (Cyprus Telecommunications Authority) teleport in Cyprus with direct links to London. The initial service will be offered on NewSkies NSS6 and NSS7 satellites, which will allow for true global coverage.

DigitalSkys will partner with IP Access International (IPA), a leading independent provider of wireless voice, video, and data. IPA and DigitalSkys will combine networks giving them global coverage.

\"This partnership will provide our customers with a very robust network and allow us to roll out numerous products into the EMEA markets,\" said Bryan Hill, President of IP Access.

\"We are very excited to begin deploying these services utilizing iDirect equipment,\" said Charles D`Alberto, CEO of DigitalSkys.

\"By combining DigitalSkys` applications and service-driven approach with iDirect`s industry- leading technology we will be able to provide our key markets with an extremely robust end-user experience. Experience coupled with excellent customer service approach will also enable DigitalSkys to serve major market segments.\"

Through this network deployment, DigitalSkys plans to initially serve the corporate, private and governmental sectors including oil and gas utilities, financial, security & defense, regional telcos and other enterprises requiring high quality bandwidth to run critical business applications.

\"We see great opportunity in the EMEA markets,\" said John Kealey, president and CEO of iDirect Technologies.

\"This significant partnership with DigitalSkys will continue to extend our reach into these growing regions. We greatly value the customer focus that DigitalSkys provides and look forward to helping them build out these important networks.\"
