Turkish Settlers - an alternative solution.

Propose and discuss specific solutions to aspects of the Cyprus Problem

I apologise, i'm only exploring new ideas.

It would be nice if you could at least think about your ideas for a minute or so and see if they make sense before proposing it in the forum.

A bad and unacceptable idea... how would you propose this to the German government who would be responsible for providing housing to these exiles? Given that Germany has reached historic levels of unemployment (even greater than in the early 1930s), where do you expect the jobs to come from for these people to fill.

It's all well and good proposing solutions, but if they're ridiculous and unachievable it's a waste of your time writing them, and ours reading them.

Germany is a great nation and an economic power, i'm sure jobs will not be a problem if they settle in west Germany. As Cyprus is in the EU there is a freedom of movemnt among people, hence Germany can't say much and must take them.

Have you asked the Germans? There are thousands of turks in Germany and the goverment doesn't know how to get rid of them, you think they will accept more turks in their country?
Even if that was the case, do you trust the turks? History has tought us that they are never to be trusted.

That is a very antagonistic and racist comment.

I apologise for my fellow GC's politically incorrect remark, some times emotion gets the better of us.

I think the main problem with the GC's is what they percieve as settlers. At the moment, they percieve the settlers to be these gypsy, poor peasentry people from southern Turkey currently living in their houses.

I think these are the people the GC's would like to see leave as they are nothing reflective of the island. I remember talking to one elderly TC and he said i quote, "they should go back to Turkey and someone should clean them."

Regardless, i think most should go back to Turkey, but if they are to stay they should have alternative housing built by Turkey. I'm not racist, i've got no problem if the whole of the TC community abroad wanted to move back to Cyprus as your cypriots just like us like it or lump it.

However, these peasentry gypsies dont go down well with the GC community. I thought giving them a break to go to Germany or any other EU country maybe better than going back to Turkey. I mean, England and France love foreigners.
