The Balls Enigma

Here is a nice enigma for you guys :D

I have 12 balls in which one of them is heavier than the rest and the other 11 balls have the same weight. How can i find which one is the heavy one by using a balance scale only 3 times.

Im sure the topic's header will attract a lot of views :lol:

It is simple Yiannis :) First, compare weight of 6 and 6, to find more heavy half which contain the ball we are looking for. Second, compare weight of 3 and 3 from that half. Third, compare weight of any 2 from the more heavy 3. If they are equal it means that the remaining ball is the heaviest. If they are not equal -.. well, it is obvious :)
But the name of the topic is really appealing :lol:

OK, now do it knowing that one ball is a different weight to all the others, without knowing whether it is heavier or lighter!

You should get the doctor to check your balls for you... if one's heavier it could indicate a problem... :lol:

Doctor should also check the number of them... 12 seems a lot :)
