A YOUNG postman from Nicosia has landed himself in some hot water after failing to deliver countless letters, because he couldn’t be bothered.

I was driving the other day when I heard someone beeping. I looked in the rear view mirror and it was the postman following me on his bike and waving one hand. I stopped to see what he wanted and he handed me a parcel which I was expecting.

......I love Cyprus!

So keen to give it to you… I’d get him to open it!

Our postie in the village Dimitri is not only the village postie he is in charge of the water puts in the meters and sees to the bills, part times at his cousins restaurant at night, and a number of other things He also is the one that watches people using hosepipes etc and clobbers them with fines after he gets the Police involved. He is,nt the Mukhtar either.

We told him that the 20,000 hunters in the adjoining field last year blasting away at 5.30 am everyday allday for months was slightly annoying, and similar to living in Beirut. Don,t know IF it was down to him but we saw very few the rest of the season. So a great postie IMHO.

His daughter got married recently and he delivered the invites himself to EVERYONE,
