YOUR ''ANNAN PLAN''

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby gabaston » Tue Jun 28, 2005 10:56 pm

Kifeas asked where my plot is. - Its in what is called Alsancak. Coming from Nicosia through the mountains Turn left at girne and its about 2/3 miles on the right. Nice plot. 3 plots close to the sea. A gc mate here in London reckons its his. I’d swap my larnaca plot with him, but its not that easy.

Lets say we go bi-zonal with a t administration in the north and a g administration in the south, and people get to their lands back. Would you sell and then buy in the south. From where I stand to-day I think I would sell mine in the south and buy in the north. That may not sound very friendly, but I would rather be under a t admin, and I reckon some gcs would do the same, but I may be very wrong.

What dya think?

i would prefer all land to go back to its real owners and then make it free to buy where ever you please. most greeks will buy land in the north becasue they have more money. this is not a way of saying gc's are poor but due to the economic sanctions this is true.

Stop day-dreaming demetriou, Turkish government will never give back land, even if some stupid leader has it in mind it won't become real, don't underestimate the huge pressure from the Turkish public!! There is a strong feeling that Cyprus belongs to us, rather than the Greeks and that includes me, I am trying to look at things without being affected but still... Lots of people I know in Turkey will never give back Cyprus! The danger of trying to take all of the island is too high! If the island was not supported by big nations, it would not be a very big deal but in the present case, trying to take the whole island would mean to pull Turkey and Greece into a long war period!! Of course, this is a personal opinion, different people may have different opinions and points of view!!

If you think that nationalists take the stories of the two sides, fine with me, then I would be a nationalist. If you think that nationalists give their point of view and ask for other peoples' points of view, fine with me, then I would be a nationalist. So don't come up with such replies please Yiannis. These are truths, Yiannis, this is the way people think in Turkey(the ones I know, there may be others that don't), I never said one of the countries should take whole of the island because of the risk so don't highlight only that part of the sentence, now if reflecting things from Turkey is being nationalist then I will be one!

make cyprus into states. larnanca, lefkosia etc. and have each state run itself. simple theory. leader of each of the 5 states goes to a national gov. and then they go from there
