I have been holidaying in Cyprus for 16 years, this year I have seen a big price hike, with the poor exchange rate with the pound it has made Cyprus very expensive but I love the island and the people and will be back again next year. but I fear many will not,in the Daily Mail Cyprus was judged secound most expensive country in Europe. In all the time I have been coming to Cyprus I have never had a cross word with a Cypriot I think they are a most charming and friendly people and very genuine. But with the recession I don,t think Cyprus is the only country to suffer

Interestingly, the Daily Mail printed in Greece is sold at €2,50 there and €2,15/CY£1.26/GB£1.85 in the RoC.
The Daily Mail is/was not my newspaper of choice but I do believe and correct me if I am wrong that the home produced week day editions sell for somewhere between 50p and 80p in the UK which may in some small way contribute to the Daily Mail's claim that Cyprus is the second most expensive country in Europe as the newspaper itself seeks to take financial advantage of UK tourist and the expatriate communities desire to keep in touch with the opinions expressed in its columns

Ican,t argue with you on the price of the Daily Mail in Cyprus, but it was my general observations on prices this year when you come back after a year it is more noticeable. As the saying goes you can,t take it with you when you go so I,ll be back next year to spend the kid,s inheritance
