Pretty good, no real rivers apart from streams in the mountains so it's mainly in damns. Just don't go to Kouris dam, they're saying some idiot released some baby freshwater crocodiles in there. They're currently trying to catch them, but if they don't they can grow up to 3m long...

I'm more a seafisher myself, but I know in Cyprus you can catch trout, carp, roach, bass etc.

Sea fishing in the UK doesn't really appeal. I bet it's totally different in the Med though

No reason why not. As long as the reservoir doesn't dry up completely and they've got a regular supply of fish (which they should have in Kouris), they'll be fine... I'm actually hoping they survive, would be a nice addition to the ecosystem...

Sorry cannedmoose! But stuff the ecosystem, as an angler who takes the sport so seriously that I usually nod off after a couple of beers when fishing the last thing I want to wake up to is a 3m crocodile. Had enough trouble with a damn great blunt nosed viper at Arradipou Dam a few years ago, Oh boy can them things move!

Some good fresh water fishing in the Dams, try fishing on the fly or a spinner for Bass and Rainbows. Sea fishing not so good in the south unless you can fish over a wreck otherwise its halfway to the Lebanon for Tuna.

Never understood why the Cyprus goverment does not sink a couple of decontaminated ships around the coast to encourage the return of marine life. Canadians have been doing this succesfully for some years in an effort to replenish fished out Cod stocks, bonus for the tourist industry is that recreational divers will spend big bucks to wreck dive, hence the popularity of the Zenobia wreck in Larnaca Bay.

Ok rotate, for the sake of you keeping your legs I'll say let's catch the little blighters...

As for sinking ships, there's another method that the US government employs. Once a tank's past its sell-by date, clean it out, remove any dangerous materials and drop it in the sea to make an artificial reef. They also do this with helicopters, artillery guns etc. etc.

Watch out though, moray eels love those gun turrets!

If there is ever a solution in Cyprus, there's your decommissioning method off the bat. Decommission weapons and bring in tourists at the same time... everyone wins :D
