Why is it people, especially ladies, hate spiders?

I know in some countries there are some that are very poisonous but in every country that I've lived in, people hate all spiders.

I love spiders (and insects-and reptiles)
everytime I see one I run to grab the camera
I saw this beautiful fellow wrapping up his lunch in silk, in my garage a few days ago

I have no idea why i hate them so much.
All i know is even the tiny ones cant come near me without me going into panic mode.
We were dining outside at a friends house in Tala last year when a jumping spider rudely landed on my bloody back...did anyone hear me??? :lol:

It made me feel veery ill and was close to fainting :cry:

Lots of things Im sure, all i know is i have a phobia and its bad.
If i see one, thats it my imagination tells me there is an even bigger one on me!!! its a horrible phobia to have. Even looking at the pictures of them on this thread, made me look around to check for them in the room :oops:
