iy would take less time to put the phone lines up yourself. we've been waitin well over 5 years for a phone line. it would be a lot easier and wuicker to go to an internet cafe. theres like one in every village u cant miss em. make freinds with the boss and u'll get it free :D

Should only take 2-3 days Caroline. First thing you do when you move in is go to a CYTA (Cyprus Telecommunications Authority) and make you order.

You have your head in the clouds. It took me four months and only because I was able to pull some UN strings that persuaded CYTA that I was sufficiently important to be given top priority. When the lines were installed, our next-door neighbour was FURIOUS, because he had applied 2 YEARS previously and he didn't get his line installed for a further 6 months. I applied for ADSL 3½ years ago and am still waiting. AND we had no mobile coverage, at that time, either.

Got my telephone lines installed within 2 days of requesting it and ADSL within a week. I was stating a fact through my own experiences. Had my lines changed to ISDN a day before I got ADSL.

I guess it depends where you are Hazza, sounds like Devil is out in the back of beyond. If you're in Larnaka then it's probably far more simple. My folks are moving to Vavla, so no doubt they'll have similar issues.
