Luther Vandross: Your tributes

Legendary US soul singer Luther Vandross has died at the age of 54, two years after suffering a stroke.

One of the leading romantic singers of his generation, his silky voice and soothing lyrics won him a legion of female fans.

Hits such as Any Love, Here and Now and Power of Love provided the backdrop for many a courting couple.

His final album, Dance With My Father went straight to number one in the US album charts in 2003 and won him four Grammys.

Vandross battled for years with his fluctuating weight, which led to other health problems including diabetes.

Anyone that knows me will tell you how mad I am about soul music..and this was the man who got me into it.

I was lucky enough to see him live two nights in a row at Wembley a couple of years ago and I am not flipant when I say he was truly one of the best vocalists of our time.

You dont know happy this mans music makes me.

I've been listening to him all my life and have all his albums and words cant descibe how sad I am right now.

The legend known as 'Luther' has passed away but his music will live on for many many years to come.

Really sad news... Luther was a great singer, particularly liked his last album which was very poignant indeed.

RIP Luther

I also had the pleasure to see Luther live about 15 years ago and he was brilliant.
I still listen to his music and always will.

RIP Luther.
