Finigoudes Sweetcorn Man/ Hot Dog Stalls

Postby demetriou_74 » Wed Jul 13, 2005 8:35 pm

After the recent success off my ice-cream thread i thought that i would make one about on-the-go snack. who knows about the guy who sells sweetcorn off the bbq opposite HOBO's in larnaka. had to be rephrased because it made no sense. do you people think it is better than the guy behind regents park selling hamburgers?

Best 'on-the-go' snack in the whole of Cyprus is the ancient guy who sells sandwiches out of his kiosk at the corner of the old stadium in Nicosia... opposite some government building but I can never remember which one. It's some sort of meat filling, no choice, only one filling, but it's gorgeous... cholesterol city but brilliant nonetheless. Looking forward to Christmas when I can get one.

Yay! Booked our flights today, in Cyprus from December 20th till January 4th! :D :D

we had a thread some weeks ago about that sandwiches if my memory is right :-)

Might have a look for the guy when I'm over in September, but chances are not very good that we are going to Nicosia. :-(

We did indeed... sorry I'm obsessive about those sandwiches... haven't had one since last December... :(

Just ignore his hygiene standards, let's just say if the EU inspectors catch up with him, he's in trouble...

Don't edit when I'm already answering! :-)

I'm the last one to care for those things when it comes to on-the-go-snacks.
Having been to a few near east countries where you buy soups in plastic bags and the like.... :-)
I'm actually never worried about things like that whem I'm in other countries.

But they're friggin' tiny, man! Gorgeous, indeed, but definitely not worth the dough.

never seen a guy in a pepsi van outside the Princess.

For a decent sandwich, there is a nice place on Dhekelia Rd. Take the turning for the Goldfish restaurant, the sharp left on the slip road. Its called "The Fountain". He does a lovely mixed sandwich.

Now Demetriou has mentioned Hobo, has anyone had a dessert there? They are huge, and very tasty!
