Desk space was running low, I thought I didn't format C for long it was time to get my laptop in shape , every thing was ok, done and dusted, my Internet browser stopped working I didn't wait it to respond I closed it and don't know how did I came up with the idea of restarting my laptop !!

Here is wot happen, laptop didn't work!!
I got this message.

BOOTMGR is compressed
Please type ctr+alt+del to restart!

Now i'm using windows vista ultimate, I still have the DVD I got about 2 months ago I thought the best way is to reboot missing files, now I have little problem, when I put the DVD in I get the message press any key to restore files, I do that then I get missing file loading then laptop shut down!! Every single time!!! I don't know wot to do if any one had this problem before would be great if I can get some help

Urmm.. Ok seems like my windows has just failed !! Ok no problem, Im trying to reinstall windows, all good , little bit slow but I'm going to fix it..

Next time do not reinstall first. Run Check Disc and defrac before you consider formatting.

I made a mistake formating it ! But seems like all is fine now, I've reinstall vista again and it's workin now gotta check if drives working fine

I've lost all files, vids, pics, movies, progs, notes etc ;( !! I thought I'll only lose all filed restored on C !!

what kind of files do you install on your computer? do you defrag or use anti virus and anti spyware ever on ur pc?

i find most people who come with problmes on the pc and think it needs formatting could easily fix problems by not filling it with spyware or at least use ad aware and other anti spyware and virus programs and defragging at least once a month otherwise it fills with crap and stops working properly ..

people seem to just format to solve simple problems..

also a good idea to buy a usb 16GB maybe 32GB depending on if you have a lot of files and back up all your programs and pics and files so if you ever need to format you can simply put them from the usb and lose nothing that way.

well i didnt have any problem with pc, spyware nd anti virus is working fine, i download lots of movies online, and leave them in my decument witch take place on C, other than that there i snothing else on C but windows files, every thing else in another partion D and thoght that by formating C nothing will happen to my other files,, but something happen and computer shut down! i open it but got messege that files missing from windows, and this is how i end up reinstalling ultimate, when i finished reinstalling i checked my file and found nothing, everything was gone!! i had couple of drivers that needed to be updated, i was doing this then finished and restart pc it didnt open again, so put the dvd again and clicked rapaire windows instead of install now!! when i finished that my pc opened and laptop working perfect AND some how i have every thing!! this is too confusing, but hey its all fixed now

Buy yourself an external hard drive and keep them backed up in the future. They are very cheap these days.

ive got memory chip and memory cars, gonna copy evry thing i need to em thanks for the advice ,

LOL you delete your partitions and then formatted the whole disk. Thats how you lost your files ^.^
