8 of Coventry’s finest students took it upon them to spend a day with Viking Divers. Instructed by Josef (OWSI), Pavlos (DM Trainee) & Szigmond (DM) they were taught the basics in diving, both theory and practical.After kitting them up we took them on a short jeep safari to Old Mans Bay near Larnaka, they were split into two groups and enjoyed the warm and clear waters of Cyprus (18 degrees). Amongst all the small groups of fish there were also a couple of trumpet fish and a small octopus. The 4 that spent their time waiting to dive, snorkelled around the divers and also found a quiet astonished looking octopus.As it is in diving there is always one that has to be a little speedy Gonzales, our guess is he just enjoyed the feeling of the instructor pulling him back by his fin!After both groups had dived and de kitted there was one request out of the group……would you mind to take me around again…maybe a little bit deeper too….hmm….after checking both pressure gauges and looking into the smiling and waiting face we did just dad (of cours whilst staying within all PADI limits).It was time to head back, wash the kit, grab a little bite to eat and then get re kitted for the 2. part of the adventure.Equipped with snorkels, masks, booties, fins, wetsuit and a live jacket they set off with Tasos (Viking Divers owner), Sam and our 7m long bright orange RIB.Waves, wind, speed and a beautiful sunny day pared with the excitement and joy made a great 2. Part of the day. Going as far as Romanzo fishing harbour and the caves, taking pictures/videos, snorkelling, jumping off the boat and enjoying the scenery surely left a lasting impression in their minds.As we, the team , have been told, Coventry’s finest enjoyed a nice “little” steak after this beautifull day.Smile!!!
