Tiny black flies here the past week. But, over in the North last week, I noticed snail trails everywhere. I reckon it is weather related. Cypriots seem to blame everything on the weather.

When I bought a fridge freezer that did not work properly from the off I returned to the shop to complain and the owner actually said 'it is because of the heat' lol! (So it will be fine in the winter then eh?)

I've been wrangling with the pool cleaners this week on account of the pool turning green 2 days after the first major clean (wasn't green before that and never has been before). They came today to clean it again and said 'it is because of the weather'. I tried pointing out to them that that could not be right because the pool they cleaned on the opposite side of the road at the same time had not turned green and I am sure they get the same weather the other side of the road but, alas, I fear my argument was lost on them!

Are these the processionary caterpillars that have the hairs that give a nasty sting?

Caterpillars are not 'worms' these are worms in Cyprus

The worms can do some damage if you have grass (in fact kill it all)but otherwise no problem.

The caterpillars though carry venomous hairs that is extremely bad for pets if ingested, children and adults too can be made sick , if they are the processionary caterpillar call your local municipality and they will be out to spray. Its common thru the med countries.

These are great little things. They are real sports. They take to a little teasing really well and can stand up for themselves. :D
