Mind you we will all probably be dead before it happens.

Thank god for that. A real monstrosity that I would not like to see in Limassol or anywhere else in Cyprus. I think the Turks have already erected quite a few monstrosities already in the north. Lets try to at least contain it there.

Just as long as our cities don't resemble the likes of Tehran, Baghdad, Athens and Kabul etc, I'm happy.
I refuse to live in a non progressive 3rd world rathole.

Do you seriously put Athens in the same level with Tehran, Baghdad and Kabul?
Do you consider the erection of third world mentality monstrosities as "progress"?

1. Yes (minus the ancient marvels)
2. Yes, with proper infrastructure, city planning and modernization. (This particular project is a gem.)

Michael Carlton nailed it in 1979.
I hope this doesn't offend anybody but its close to the truth.

I guess everyone’s standards are different… people like Kimon probably went to Athens in the early 70s and thought he had just landed in paradise because he had seen no other place for comparison other than his mud-brick mountain village with a population of 50!
