Yeah it does depend where you go Demetriou.
Limassol's tourist area has deteriorated a hell of alot, therefore it limits tourists and anyone wanting to listen to club music.
The cypriot scene has taking over, alot of trendy and elite bars have opened with a complete different attitude. I dont know if you have headed down to any of these snobby, shallow places, you'd find cypriot men and women huddled together like sheep (literally mutton dressed as lambs), in their designer clobber, not communicating, holding the same drink in their hand that they ordered all night, and trying to immitate the italians. It is rather amusing when you analyze their movements!

So basically what im saying, your better off staying at home watching carry on films then being subjected to their shallow performances!

Take it from someone who lives down these parts, but if you do get desperate and have no where to go, I can suggest a few (just about) decentish places to check out!

As opposed to what? What do you think is fun? From your comment about "holding the same drink in their hand that they ordered all night", I guess getting drunk is part of the fun for you?

I don't know if Cypriots are trying to imitate the Italians, but have you ever thought that what they have in Italy might be a lot closer to what Cypriots like than what you have in the UK?

I think what MissLondonCY meant is that a lot of Cypriots act very pretencious when they are socialising in public and do like to pose as if they have lots of money...but when it comes down to it, they dont spend much apart from buying materialistic things. I got to say, whenever I have gone to Nicosia, i've always been made to feel like some kind of outsider...the Lefkosiades are the original 'psilo-mouties'...infact, whenever I went out in Cyprus to places with the majority of Cypriots...I always find that posing is more important to them than having fun (which I dont se as getting drunk out of your face).

and also, WHY THE HELL do the Cypriot guys wear those stupid tight hotpants to the beach....they look sooooooooooo gay and some of the guys really dont have the body to wear those things lol.

Piratis I didnt mean to offend you, but thats what I see when Im present at such places, Main Source was absolutely right (as usual - :P) the majority of cypriots are kinda pretentious, on the other hand I dont condem roudiness and drunkiness in order to have fun. I guess what Im trying to say there isnt an idealistic way to have fun, everyone perception of having a good time is different. At some of the Bars/Cafes in Limassol, you have to book a table in a cafe in order to have a simple drink, and to get the table in the first place, your gotta know someone behind the scenes, so basically not anyone can just waltz in and have a drink - its all so complicated for somthing so simple.

I remember the last time I got properly drunk was at the end of my GCSE's, and to be honest it's quite pathetic, you end up making such a fool out of yourself, what is fun about that? What is fun about making a complete idiot out of yourself? Do you people even ENJOY drinking that much beer, or is it just a means to an end? In which case it's pretty pathetic, but it's pretty pathetic whatever the circumstances. And it's pretty anti-social to top it off, those who cannot exercise good communicative skills and start off interesting topic of conversation usually are the first to get drunk.

Girls who do this are even worse, it's so unfeminine and unattractive.

My friends always have a go at me for smoking so much, but so fucking what? I'm not the one who makes myself look like an idiot in a good restaraunt, even then, I probably wouldn't show my face in there again because of what they did. But even then, that is not nearly as bad as some of the things that go on in certain pubs that I won't mention.

all the locals are goin to the 'tourist' bar and generally annoy me. cyprus will change in the next few years. tourism will die then it will be a big rich-poor divide accross the island
