How can ancient Greek civilisation be a 19th century invention when all the evidence including buildings, literature, archaelogical finds, discoveries and inventions etc precede this date? What do you think inspired the renaissance, which occurred well before the 19th century and Greek independence? Your claims are laughable GR, and it is even more laughable when you refer to evidence!

Greece is the MOTHER of lies!

The fine art of manufacturing and telling stories is a Greek specialization called… wait for it:

Greek mythology!

Greeks are a morally, ethically, and financially bankrupt group of incompetent people who have been living a life of delusions!

There you have it, not only the Greeks, but the whole world is telling lies because GR says so! Thank you and goodnight.

P.S. If telling stories and mythology is a Greek character trait, then you're more Greek than any of us GR!

"The sweepstake migrations and the subsequent evolution of endemic faunas were facilitated during the Pleistocene, as the climatically induced sea-level fluctuations were changing the distance between the mainland
and the islands.
The low sea levels were making the sea barrier easier and more probable to cross, while the subsequent high levels could make the sea channel crossing practically impossible, causing the isolation of the founding population on an island. The great number of islands in the
Mediterranean, especially in the Aegean, made this region highly favourable for the evolution of island endemics (Sondaar and Boekschoten 1967, Dermitzakis and Sondaar 1979, Kotsakis et al.1980, Sondaar et al. 1986, Marra 2005, Palombo 2006)."

There were long periods of time when sailing between the islands was even easier than it is now.

GREEK MYTHOLOGY!

It’s in the Greek psyche to lie so as to impress! You just can’t help yourselves…

GR, Greek mythology is just one of the many fascinating facets of ancient Greek civilisation. You should not give it so much attention to the exclusion of all the others.

Come to think of it, fooling the whole world for so long with so much fake elaborate evidence, to such an extent that it even inspired revolutions and a renaissance? Well, that would be an achievement on par with anything any nation has ever managed before! Either way us Greeks are great achievers!

This one’s for Simon…

“It might just as well have been said of the Greeks in general. They are a nation of liars: brilliant liars, spectacular liars, breathtaking liars.”

“Greeks are proud of their ability to lie. It’s in the culture and goes right back to the wily Odysseus, the champion trickster who achieved everything he did by brilliant deception and subtlety of mind.”

See above GR! I note that the quote makes the cultural link between ancient and modern Greece. I'll add it to my list of sources!

"The low sea levels were making the sea barrier easier and more probable to cross"

Note that this paper is from the 1980s. Recently archaeologists found tools in Crete which prove that the island was visited in the neolithic period. People have been sailing far longer than we previously thought. Anyone who knows anything about sailing knows tha the depth of the water is irrelevant to passage making, as is proven by the long sea crossings of the Polynesians among others.

If people sailed from the mainland to Crete in the Neolithic period, they obviously sailed to other places and conceivably Cyprus. So it was not all East to West, some movements were the other way round.

The skill involved in making and sailing a vessel those distances are proof of culture and technology, otherwise known as civiilsation, which obviously was not a monopoly of the eastern races.
