O.K. my turn, well my name is Liza I am 29 yrs of age and I'm a Cancerian (Not that I actually beleive much in the stars).
I'm 1.70m and I could do with losing about 5kgs (but I've been saying that for 9yrs now) My dads GC from Morfu and my mum's british, I have 2 sisters and 1 brother (I'm the eldest) I'm married to a GC (originally from Ammoxostos) and blessed with two kids (Boy 5.5 and Girl 2) . I was born in London and lived there for 11yrs we then came over to Cyprus (for a trial period) of 2 yrs where we all settled (sort of) and then we had to go back to the U.K. (rather disturbing to leave all new friends again) as my moms sister was diagnosed with Cancer (she subsequently died 1 year later) that was a big trauma for me as I was very close to my Aunt  Anyway moving swiftly along my parents moved back over here 2 years later and left me with my nan in London to finish my GCSE's I did that and did 2 yrs of college but really wasn't mature enough to handle living in London practically alone (smoking way too much weed!) so I came back to Cyprus where I was lucky enough to find a good job which has given me the opportunity to grow from admin assistant to executive trader, its a Ukrainian company and basically we sell various steel products worldwide.

Character description: I generally think I'm easy going, logical and open minded I'm critical of myself rather than of others, sometimes I think I should give myself a break!
I'm not a religious person but I'd like to beleive that there's a higher power up there that will look after the normal little people in this world that live day to day as best they can and all the nasty evil shits will be punished.

Life Goal: To be a good wife/mummy/ grandmother eventually ... :)

hi

i am 23
currently studying in germany. in magdeburg to be more precise but hopefully i ll manage to change the city...city knows the reason most probably :)

enjoy traditional music and dancing as well as ethnik and jazz. favorite greek singers in this time malamas, thanassis (and not vassilis) papakonstantinou and nionios

lately got excited with allesantro baricco. great grazy writer.
since i arrived in germany i started reading also some of the ancient greek guys and the more i read the more i am convinced that we admire them for the wrong reasons

i strongly believe that if one decides to critisice he should have something else to propose. else... i propose silence

Hi All

This is my very first post as i have just joined so i thought this thread will be a good way to introduce myself.

My name is Nic, i'm 23 (44 was just a random number that i chose  ).

25 years ago, my father lost contact with his father (my grandad) who was originally from Petra (i think) but relocated to Paphos. Within the last year, i have managed to trace him down and his other relatives, only to find out that he died in 2003.

I am still trying to find my dad's half brother and sister, who live in certain places around the world.

I work for an Investment Bank and get extremely bored cos i am no where near reaching my potential. I have 11 GCSE's, 3 Alevels and a Degree and i'm doing a million more exams for the securities and investment Institute. It is incredibly boring and i'd rather be on holiday. But hey, i have to do what i have to do to get paid. Sad but ture

I am trying to find out more about my roots from the few places that i can and hope that the people on here can possible help me to learn more about me.

I hope to become a regular on here as i have sooooo much spare time Monday to Friday :D

:D :D :D yeah, definitely. Well, I will put it nicely: Germany has a lot of nice, beautiful, crazy and intereseting places, unfortunately M. is not one of those. About the quality of the university of course I can not judge.
That should be taken into consideration as well I guess...

Okey, people, this is my first post,so I am not sure how it will go.
I am of TC origin lived in Australia for donkeys years.I left cyprus at 17 because my father didnt want me to go into the Army.Originally we are from a little village in Paphos now apparently razed to the ground.I just discovered this forum, and I am really a beginner with computers as well, but I am glad I took the trouble to begin.I miss Cyprus terribly and was hoping madly for unification so I could return for good, and bring my 86- year- old mother to live her remaining days in her homeland.Terribly disappointed things did not turn out ok.Let me tell you a little story to begin with. When we arrived in Sydney with my father we stayed at a cousins place for a few weeks till he could find us somewhere to live. When he did, he said it was a flat on the grounds of a good friend's house and he was sure we would be happy there. My counsin had left Cyprus late 40s and what we didnt realise was that most of his friends were Greek Cypriots. We had just left the island where the greeks were the enemy lusting after our blood! Now we were living in their garden in Australia. That first night I did not sleep at all from fear of being killed in my sleep.Next morning there was a knock on the door, our landlord's wife was there to invite us to breakfast Cyprus- style. We lived with them for 18 months, till I left to go to university and live on campus. That lady became a second mother to me,and as my mother was still in Cyprus tought me everything I know about cooking Cyprus- style. That was 25 years ago and
when she died a few years ago,I did not stop crying for 3 days.
The moral of the story my friends is not to judge a book by its cover. There are no Greeks or Turks outside Cyprus, only human beings very much like one another. And when I started going to school who do you think became my best friends?Yep,Greeks and Greek Cypriots. We used to joke that the solution to the Cyprus problem was to take all Cypriots out of Cyprus and force them to live together in another country for 2 years. When they returned they would all be Cypriots and live happily ever after.I look forward to getting to know as much of you as possible via this forum. And who knows we might even meet someday in a united Cyprus. My best wishes from a freeeeeezing wintry Australia.
