Car rental from Paphos Airport

Postby CFB1501 » Wed Aug 18, 2010 10:27 am

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a car hire company, picking up from Paphos Airport?

Last time we used EasyCar and we got totally ripped off with the extra charges. Any suggestions welcome.

I've used these guys in the past... Worth checking out on-line... send them an e-mail and ask for discount too...

A friend came over at Christmas and used Avis - the extras were outrageous!

I have a question if anybody can help.
If I hire a car from Larnaca or Paphos can I cross over to the north with it?

I too would like that question to be answered. I intend on travelling to Cyprus/Pafos, hire a car and use it in the north as well (for 2-3 weeks).

You need to find a company that will let you take the car across the Green Line, so its best to book in advance.
I've used Fontana in the past and found them very reliable, pick up and drop off at Pafos airport, and no problem with crossing the Green Line. http://www.cyprus-car.com/

You must buy third party insurance when you cross, either for three days or a month. And if you break down in the north you are responsible for getting the hire car back over to the south again.

No doubt the 'usual suspects' will post dire and exaggerated warnings about crossing the green line. Just ignore them, make your arrangements in advance and see for yourself.
