If are Offense performs like this and we can get a huge crowd for the match against Norway, I expect nothing less then either the way we beat Ireland 5-2 or Bulgaria 4-1 to occur. 8)

Well what can I say!

Watched the match with great interest and I have to say that it was by far and away the most entertaining match of the evening.

8 goals, 2 attack minded teams and 2 awful defences!

I said before the game Cyprus would be seen as progressing by just scoring a goal tonight but the out did that and scored 4, however yet again, as with the WC qualifiers, them little individual and collective errors have come to cost them.

I genuinely think Portugal were there for the taking and had it not been for the a wonder stirke, some poor defending and goalkeeping then the scoreline could've been very different!

Portugal were poor, very poor against the counter attack and had Cyprus been able to defend much better then the score line would have been more positive. Don't get me wrong, this is a huge improvement on previous results and yet again shows good progress, its just about time these same errors were removed from the game.

This is though a fine result, especially on their travels and hopefully a big crowd can get behind the team in Larnaca for the Norway game, a game that is winnable with the same amount of offensive style as tonight without the defence frailties that the Portugese exploited.

If they can shut up shop but this still stick away their chances then there is a strong possability that Cyprus can get 4 points from 2 games!

Individually, the Portuguese are more skillful but when it comes to counterattacks Cyprus is very dangerous as proven by her four goals tonight. Let’s hope Cyprus will keep her high attacking spirits and destroy Norway and Iceland which are much easier opponents of her group.

Another shocking statistic:

50% - 50% ball possession... in an A-W-A-Y game against Portugal.... nuff said.

How much did we pay the Portuguese defenders?
