Sleeping Rough for Justice

Protest at the Presidential Palace between
30th September and 4th October

For four years now I've been trying to find justice in the Cyprus courts against a developer who has assaulted me twice, unlawfully sold my family's house registered to us in the Land Registry and kept our money.

During this process I have spent an enormous amount of money while my family lives in squalid rented accommodation and we are going through a lot of inconvenience and suffering.

I'm going through this respectfully and with a lot of patience but recently I have the feeling that the authorities in Cyprus are trying to intimidate me for pursuing my rights by filing a criminal procedure against me following a decision by the Attorney General. This case concerns certain publications I did in the UK on my website http://www.LyingBuilder.com in 2006 through which I expressed my opinion and explained the injustice against my family by Cypriot developers.

The Attorney General was willing to proceed with such a prosecution despite the fact that he was not willing to proceed with the criminal prosecution under section 303a of the penal code for the unlawful selling of my house. As a result of that I was forced to proceed with a Private Criminal Prosecution incurring all the legal expenses myself.

We consider the filing of the criminal action as an attempt to intimidate, silence and prevent me from pursuing my rights through the courts in Cyprus.

Starting on Thursday 30th September at 2pm I will begin a peaceful protest outside the Presidential Palace. My lawyers have notified the Police and the British High Commission. I will remain there until my court appearance for the criminal case against me on Monday 4th October 2010

I intend to carry on this process every time I come to Cyprus for court proceedings and am forced away from my family.

I have a clear record of all the times I have travelled from the UK and can produce them for you so you can see the extent of the suffering. Something that not a lot of people would be able to endure.

In August 2008 I slept 'rough for justice' outside the Cyprus High Commission in London. I stayed there for 74 days and nights and only broke camp when I received a court date for the assault suffered January 2008. That case is still going on.

No, thats what Developers do to buyers, and if you complain about what you have bought at all, well we know what happens next........

Many "developers" are not people to be trusted. They can do nasty things and take advantage of loopholes in the law. But just because he has some issue with a developer this doesn't mean he can bad mouth the whole of Cyprus.

I don't think your logic stands. 1000s buy homes in Cyprus and he was the only one to have his head kicked. Judging from his current behavior (and we can easily assume he was always like that since characters do not change) then it is easy to understand why such thing happened to him.

Does it say anywhere in the MASSIVE marketing in the UK that YOUR Developers and YOUR estate agents do every year twice a year, that IF you don,t like what we do you will get a cucumber UP your arse or things to that effect? What current behaviour? taking his alleged three assailants to court? Is that bad behaviour? To get a court case at all, you have to camp outside an Embassy for 74 days whose bad behaviour are we on about here? To even be heard you have to shout here, cause no-one listens, you think no-one else has had threats or bad treatment?. Some have left because of it. Is it bad behaviour to complain when what you have bought is a good deal smaller than what your contract states? Should that complaint lead to dire threats? Whose bad behaviour is that then?

If those that speak badly of others deserve a head kicking then there are one or two on here that should be careful, I find your logic regarding that statement amazing

Its all connected to property sales as well. There is a cesspit of stories out there, why do you think one of the biggest Developers on the island got the CPAG off the web ( for now) because of what it has collated. Those that have had little or no problems support those that have, like you do we all stick together. Can,t see whats bad about that at all. When you get knocked get up again, easy. If you don,t like whats being said go to the people that have caused it in the first place Lawyers Developers Wankers etc etc, tell them to behave!!!!

There is ample evidence here, for the prosecution, of how unscrupulous and extortionist his aims are, IMHO.

Shouldn't this fucker end up in the slammer, if there is any justice?
