Yes, but not sure that the term "porkies" is appropriate in this case, perhaps the "Clintonesque" word "misspoke" would be better.

What they know Halil is that according to the ECHR persons living on stolen land in Cyprus have (unfairly in my view) a legal claim to it whereas the Court cannot support such claims in Palestine, it's outside its jurisdiction.

The article only quotes 270 donum of land and no mention made of number of villas.
I dont know who to fear more, the settlers or the Zionist ambitions. :?

The exagerated number shows Halils frustration.

Yup

270 acres , 70 acres for 2 hotels and 200 acres for apartments and bungalows according to the report. You were right Jerry, Halil is lying again.

Best to blame it on the language barrier, he merely "mispoke" (is it one, two or even three s's)

Regarding the Zionists I recorded but have not completely viewed Louis Theroux in Palestine last week, fascinating. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12347050

There's also an excellent new series started on BBC sunday night called "The Promise". Includes British forces in the 1940s and I guess how the Jews, in effect, chased them out. I suppose it looks a bit like Cyprus did in the 1950s, I wonder where it was filmed.

Oh dear, I am cast as a 'Jew' (I prefer the term 'Jewsih') or a Jewish sympathiser. Ethnically, I am 'Goy' - that is non-Jewish. By Faith, I believe in a Greater Being, though my upbringing was Christian Orthadox and I remain true to the Holy Trinity.

So, not Jewish by birth or religious allegence; and this brings up a point; so often I see on CF confusion between the use of the word 'Jew' and the word 'Israeli'. I assume we are discussing Israelis here; we do not describe (GC) Cypriots as 'Christians', we describe them as 'Cypriots' - and why wouldn't we, so why describe 'Israelis' as 'Jews'?

Anyway, i digress, Jewish sympathiser, not really - but I have lived in Jewish communities and have visited Israel on more than one occasion, so perhaps know the history and culture of the Jewish (and Israeli!) people quite well, which is why, so often, I am aghast at the sheer ignorance and narrow minded racism I see.

For those interested, there is also a Synagogue in Larnaca, details at www.jewishcyprus.com.
