I am a music fanatic...i cannot get through the day if i dont listen to music,so a few months when we got ADSL connection i was intrested from where i can download mp3 files and stuff, after downloading a few dozens of mp3s from different websites,i had enough!!...so i found a file sharing program called LimeWire.I downloaded it and unlike Kazaa or Imesh or Warez it was completly add-less and free of pop-ups....i recommend this software to anyone who is a music fanatic like me....ok ciao for now

That is some collection! Are you very wealthy?

True tho that you can't always rely on the quality of downloads. I still resent though that I have been paying for music for so long at stupid prices. I have been buying from I Tunes but recently when changing laptop I had to allow my new laptop to play the songs I bought!! I BOUGHT them, they are MINE!!!

I'm sure in time there will be a good balance.

Top 5 songs

Sweet child of mine G n R's
Rip it up Orange Juice
Today was a good day Ice cube (Saw xXx last night cool)
Joleen Dolly Parton (don't laugh.. it's cool!!)
Can you party Royal House
Devil went down to Georgia Charlie Daniels Band
Dating Game Insane Clown Posse
Owner of a lonely heart Yes

I know I said 5.. but I got excited.. I have more but have to do stuff... later...

Main_Source.. first song bought? mine was 'owner of a lonely heart'..

  Where do you store them? Do you have them insured also? For Mp3 downloads I use emule. No ads no spyware and you can find almost anything you want.

Im not rich...infact, because of this addiction, im quite poor lol.

I just store them in a big shelving unit in my room (good old Ikea).

As for buying Mp3's...I want a music collection I can touch and see...I dont want all my songs on blank TDKR74 CD's. I want the real deal and thats why I buy my vinyl (as well as being a DJ).

My first record I bought? Well, I was lucky because my brother was on a promo list for several record companies as well as collecting himself...so i've always had lots of music to listen to in my house. The first ones I bought though was probably when I decided to start colelcting rare groove...and went up Camden Lock market and bought 'So Different' by Kinky Foxxx and 'Just A Touch Of Love' by Slave.

Why do you prefer vinyl instead of CD? Is vinyl better? And how about DVD-Audio and SACD? Do you think vinyl can survive until the end of the decade?

because vinyl has a warmer sound to me and you can touch it, you can see where there are scratches and overall vinyl has a lot more character.

Also, I buy vinyl because Im a DJ and I cant stand those so-called DJ's who play music downloaded off the internet. there not real DJ's and to me are like offspring of the devil.

yeah, thats exactly how I see it, but unfortunately I needed to start buying CDs as well, as not all new releases are coming out on vinyl anymore. :-(

your right there...its hard to get what you want on vinyl...especially if its a genere of music that is not DJ'd.

but vinyl have sales have escalated quite significantly over the last few years and the big HMV store in Oxford Street in London is selling a lot more vinyl. Thery're starting to sell pop music on 7" and they have a whole new rock music vinyl section....something that wasnt around a couple of years ago.

So from what I can see...all this stuff about CD totally phasing out vinyl is rubbish...its actually starting to come back in. Real music heads will buy vinyl.

What about DVD-Audio and SACD? We are talking about multichannel surround sound not just stereo here. Will vinyl survive when multichannel audio becomes the norm?
