wedding planning

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Why would being married make a child more secure? It would be about if the parents were secure that would make a child secure. Married couples fight, argue, swear in front of their childrenetc as much as anyone else. Again, a piece of paper changes nothing.

Ok so the perputual loan idea works well, I give you that. It's actually a goof idea. Personally I don't want to be owing anybody money for the rest of my life. There are so many conditions and politics involved, it just isn't worth it.

I am a pessimist!!

Voyou, you sound abit bitter about marriage, I can understand your point, but people forget the religeous aspect of matrimony, you make a vow to god, to respect and take care of your partner. Its not just about making thousands and having a good old knees up!

Voyou, Could this hostility towards marriage be cos you maybe got jilted at the alter?

Hi MISSLONDONCY,

I actually hve never been married or jilted. was just about engaged once..

My point really is that once people have taken these vows, they normally switch off in the being decent to each other department as they do not have to try any more. I see it all the time.

Add that to the fact that these vows are said but not acted on and my previous points.. still I have not seen a reason to get married.

I am looking for a reason to do it.

Also, just for the record. I am married in every sense except that I have not signed a piece of paper. I live with my partner ( I will not go into how much I care for her), and we have a great life together. Marriage just doesn't seem to make any sense.

I am quite happy to be convinced it is worthwhile.. I just haven't heard the reason yet!

Don't you get some tax benefits if you are officially married?
