The reason Greece is so pro-European involves Cyprus and the threat from Turkey.

All those who pretend they love Cyprus so much, and want to 'prove' their love by their anti-Greek propaganda are doing the most harm. But they don't mind because most of them are Brits or Turks or far away from the other half of the planet.

- If you love Cyprus, you have to support Greece because if Greece is forced to crumble, the Turks will invade the whole Greek nation's territories and Cyprus will become a grain of sand for imported Muslims.

(Germany knows this, hates the Turks and will probably not push to the limit. I pray. They just want money!)

The Key point that you and GIG have overlooked is that the ships are trading interntionally and the companies are therefore not dependendant on or even closely linked to the Greek domestic Markets: you may have to look a very long way back to find one of these firms ships taking cargo either from or too Greece.

I did not comment anything on your dialog with GIG. I just commented on an off topic posting by Bananiot. And I would never include you in the fifth column lot to which I include only "Greeks" and "Greek" Cypriots. Besides, I consider your stance towards Cyprus and the Cyprus problem positive and friendly.

Thanks Kimon, what confused me was that your comment was attached to GIG's remarks not Bananiots, but I apprecaite your remarks.

wow GIG is this finally an admission that greece, can do wrong and in this instance screwed up in a big way?...and now you're pleading for mercy?...am i reading you right here?...

a quick reminder here GIG all the blabber about turks stepping all over your beloved greece, hello with a very big help from greece they are in cyprus...and now you want everyone to feel sympathy for greece?...now this little gaff of yours showed everyone where your allegiance lies...and it ain't with cyprus...you are shedding tears at the thought of a split greece but you have no problem with the splitting of cyprus...otherwise you would have mention the occupation in your little pathetic feel sorry for greece speech...

i have a better suggestion, why not the cypriot government do a secret deal and call it "liberation, no pain and gain operation" with the turks and device a plan how we can subdivide greece between us...i call it "liberation, no pain and gain operation", for taking the pain away from greeks and gain(s) for cyprus and turkey...ofcource part of the deal will be "liberation" for cyprus...needless to say we will insist crete and athens become provinces of the cyprus republic...

i wonder if the turks will go for it?...

your thoughts on this GIG?...

If certain politicians/eurocrats have their way the price of the survival of Euro in the light of its current crises (which is NOT just a Greek mess) could be the effective abolition of Greece as a nation-state, along with the effective abolition of every other Eurozone country, in favour of a politicaly unified European superstate of some sort, run from Brussels: a number of commentators seem to think that the Euro cannot survive without poltical integration. France and Germany will no do doubt compete for Supremacy but either way we will end with a victory of either Napoleon or Hitler i.e centralised domination of Europe, which in my view is potentially worse than Enosis with Greece. The Countries will probbaly end us as an administrative region within the EU with current national elected assembly bodies and the exective armes reduced in status to litle more than glorified local councils.

Exactly!

There is an argument that the €uro was introduced in the sure knowledge that it would fail... Political and fiscal union being the only possible solution/outcome. :x

All this just because Germany wants to encourage Greeks to go and work in Germany ...

Merkel's proposal as a solution to the Greek's protestations:

She has been looking at ways to deepen the EU internal market and boost mobility in Europe's labour market.

That's her solution to the crisis she has helped create in Greece. Get more Greeks over to Germany to work for them! Presumably they are hoping to kick out their troublesome migrant Turks.

Very clever.

So the whole crisis in the €uro... it was all manufactured by the Germans to recruit some Greek workers who could then replace the Turkish workers...?
