A number of CYs protesting over the sell-off of schools attached to the EMU to Turkish institutions have been injured in clashes with "police" as they tried to demonstrate.

Head of teachers union KTOS Sener Elcil is reported as saying...
...“Turkey is seeking to take over Turkish Cypriot assets as a way of securing its hold on north Cyprus,” he said, adding that the police had been “ordered by the military to use force” against the demonstrators."...

The protesters have set up a tented protest camp to continue their demo.
