...indeed Turkey is essentially at war with her major trading partners, Syria, Israel, Egypt, (never mind Iraq and Iran,) which come to mind.

Her terms are friendly with Europe, to be polite, but it is Europe, NATO, USA, who are making this effort.

Russia, i imagine Erdogan's Turkey is optimistic about, two cleptocracies combined (as honest brokers) may bring some success in the short term, but it is hard to imagine that their legacy can last for a long time under these circumstances, someone will take a fall, in this scenario if it is not one against the other, it will be a war where their populations are preoccupied with a greater, common, enemy (their bankers).

...Unions strike, and base their demands on the success of the past cycle; the expectation is that with time from this point there is growth, with it their reward. As a problem this actual decline does not bode well for Erdogan with an election in less than two weeks. Cynically speaking, i am expecting him to buy their votes, it is not so clear cut the 2/3 majority he wants, even the more than 50% he needs.

No, it's not crap what the main topic is, which the Turkish exports are down........... AGAIN.

Blaming 19% drop in Exports due to the Auto strikes is crap. Turkey's exports would have been down even without the auto strikes, and that's the main topic.

When I arrived home very late tonight, before I read the Turkish election results, I quickly checked the exchange rates on the Turkish Lire, which told me all I needed to know what the elections results were all about. Basically, the TL is in the toilet with major loses tonight, which meant so was the AKP, along with Erdogan. :D

Another reason for the TCs to find a solution based on EU principles for Cyprus, so that they can get rid of the Turkish Lira, which is sinking faster than the Titanic!

I can understand how your simple economic mind works when using simple calculations!

You very conviniently forget, that when the old 3,000,000 (Yes, million) Turkish Liras = $1 USD, then became the new Turkish Lira few years ago, 1 TL = $1, so basically speaking, $1 UDS today would have been worth 9,000,000 old TL, or to put in another way so that you too can understand, the TL is worth 200% less now than it did only few years ago. Just that everyone understand just how bad the Turkish Lira has been in the last 50 years, when I was in Turkey in 1965, £1 GBP = 25 old TL. Today £1 GBP would be worth between 15,000,000-18,000,000 old TL. Now tell me Lordo, is that what you call a great currency?

look kikapu it is your logic i am using. if it sounds ridicules it is your logic not mine. when it comes to terggish lira as opposed to new terggish lira get over it. it was done and accepted. in fact the old terggish lira took a tumble since the intervention and never recovered.

i must but some more terggish liras today when it bottoms out.

Stick to what you know best, which is Lordo's logic and not mine. You CAN'T handle my logic!

Yes, by all means go and buy more Turkish Liras, Lordo. It's a fast way of becoming poor. Just as those who kept on buying and holding since the new TL was = to the USD. Now the TL is worth almost 200% less than it did just few years ago.

Most Turks I know, they buy into stable foreign currencies instead with their TL's or even buy into badly made properties in Turkey.

My advice to the TCs in the north is, get yourselves rid of the TL. TL is worse than quicksand. It will take the TCs down with it!
