Hi

There is a Muy Thai martial arts school just below Euro gym which is right next to the Coca cola factory here in Nicosia. The Coca cola factory is close to the horse racing track. Regarding the school itself: the teacher is a Cypriot that fought competently in Greece ( he knows his stuff) its also not just punching a bag you get the opportunity to get into an indoor ring with some of your fellow students and knock them around a bit.

The school try to be active as they compete in local competitions held in Paphos and the Hilton hotel here in Nicosia they also send fighters to Greece to compete there.

I would recommend this school to anybody as they cater for most people’s needs. If you are interested in fitness Muy Thai is great, try hitting that punching bag for 3 min nonstop. They also have classes for kids so its something the whole family can do.

There must be any Taekwon-do school in Nicosia, I assume, because there is Taekwon-do ITF federation in Cyprus.

Taekwon-do is suitable for all people regardless age. For example there is students from 4 to 60 years old in our school (in Czech Rep.). You can try it and will see. At the beginning you will practise only fundamental techniques, don't be afraid the injury.

Since you mentioned jiu jitsu, I highly recommend training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. There's a school in Nicosia at New Body Gym, the instructor is excellent.

Have you trained BJJ before or are you after traditional japanese jiu jitsu?

Let me know if this helps and I can give you further info.
