Sorry i didnt mean for you to do what the in laws want. I meant does it matter if your limited to ways you could do it. Please dont get me wrong. Sod the in laws , you should do what you want, and if they want a greek wedding then let them go marry or remarry in a greek church.
Im all for doing what makes you happy not doing what will make others happy.
Like i said before dont give up on the idea, as you can marry in a english church.
As for my big fat greek wedding.........its not far from the truth lol
If you go for the greek wedding it will be lovely (i wouldnt do it lol) Just remind your family and friends that are not cypriot to get some gold shoes for the big day and the biggest shoulder pads they can find lol. oh and dont forget to back comb their hair. Its all about competiton and who's son or daughter is the most stunning or clever or who is the richest or who has the biggest hair do..They are not really there for the happy couple they are there to show themselves, or should i say show themselves up.I have been to about 50 greek weddings since i was a little girl and they are all the same.
One bad thing about not having the greek wedding is you dont get the money pinned on you. If i was you id get married in a church of england church and have a greek party shhhhhh its the clever way of doing it....you see the greek in laws will think you are being nice and doing it half greek and half english but really your just cashing in lol ,you got to be clever about these things keep the in laws sweet and you win at the same time.
Anyway,,, believe it or not i am very proud to be a Cypriot i wouldnt change it for the world. I just cant stand controlling parents or in laws.
Even my parents do it, but i have trained them well lol they are really funky modern cypriot parents now.What more could i wish for.
