You have to care about percentages cos it's a simple, easy to understand HEADLINE FIGURE... it's one of the few things that voters will read in the referenda. They won't read the small-print.

The percentages with a list of villages ... are a vital part of what will get people thinking as to whether to vote Yes or No... so start caring Halil.

Just to comment on the article’s punch line…

Problem is there is no "separate ways" option for you... sorry!

Ultimately, you'll either get absorbed by Turkey or the indigenous Cypriots because nobody else supports a third entity, not even Turkey.

Just keep in mind that if you choose to go with Turkey the land you are currently occupying is not for keeps as it belongs to the RoC.

The “TC community” or whatever is left of it, just doesn’t seem to realize how insignificant it has become over the years. It’s not even a political force on the island let alone in the region to have any say on the future of things! This may sound blunt but it’s honest.
