For once I have to agree with you, and I totally agree with this statement.

Well, there's a start, now VP will probably have heart failure, i wished.

Erm... VP was last seen being put in to the back of an emergency ambulance heading for Free Treatment at Nicosia General Hospital, clutching his/her gramophone record and life-belt.

So what's going to happen after New York, January 22:

1) Direct flights to ercan.
2) Free trade with the north.
3) Then recognition of the north.
4) Turkey joins the EU.
5) Pigs fly.

This is the funny part.....do you know what will happen on that date, honestly? And, from that date and onwards....2013....2015....2020....etc......
..

.. Here Goes....

NOTHING!

The only thing that will happen is Turkey's influence in the region getting stronger, the Turkish popualtion in the TRNC rising to probably, unofficially, 1-million +, and the Cyprus problem reduced to a LAUGHABLE state, where nations dependent and close to Turkey's economic relations elevating the TRNC to a point of no return.

Look at it this way, and no BS please, what has REALLY happened since 1974? Since the countless times the Greek Cypriots have chanted "Invaders", "Occupation"....BLah blah blah......? Absolutely NOTHING besides only the elevation of Partition on the island. The TRNC is now seen advertised on official ABTA Holiday brouchures, on London buses, you can Catch a plane from the UK - even though it stops in Turkey - and it'll takle you direct to the TRNC, old so-called GC properties are being knocked down on a daily basis and being replaced with 5-Star CRATOS style Casinos in Kyrenia-Grine and then visited by Greek Cypriots themselves. There are many more cases, examples I can give that we prove that NOTHING will change in Cyprus besides the changing of Co-Presidents or either side, the blamning of the current leader in any UN based talks, and the EU sitting by offering only pointless lip service to the Greek Cypriots with no results.

If I were a Greek Cypriot, I would ask the following:

1) If you are so much on our Greek Cypriot side as an EU member state, then why is Turkey still an EU Candidate for membership? And, why is Turkey's largest Trading Partner the EU itself after so many UN Resolutions (only advise mind you) against its actions on Cyprus?

Either the Greek Cypriots have as many Rubbish lawyers as they have Economists, or the EU is taking them for a right bunch of idiots?????

The occupied are advancing on a turtle pace. Will never reach the number of population you stated because the place itself cannot sustain it. Nor will it ever get any more investments given the fact that 90% of the mainly Turkish investments have failed or proved economically non viable.

Regarding your question it was an agreement between EU and Greece, that Cyprus would join,or else Greece would veto the latest EU enlargement, while at the same time Turkey would get a candidate member status. Well it will always remain there having completed only one of her 25 chapters whereas the 15 most important for her remain frozen.

And how is it relevant with UN resolutions the fact that Turkey trades largely with the EU??? It's a candidate member hence it trades :!:

Even a broken clock is accurate to picoseconds twice a day, which is more than I can say about your own tick tocks accuracy!

You are better off having a broken clock!

No road is too long for him who advances slowly and does not hurry, and no attainment is beyond his reach who equips himself with patience to achieve it

very good advice; then what is the hurry in the north, setting deadlines, and now changing names?

..."Turks" say they are right, and they have the might; where is their dignity and Grace?

am not sure why the Turks keep saying that the end is near in terms of the Cypro. The only end that will take place is the UN realising that the TC's are pushing for a formalised partition and they will not grant it.

Cyprus = Energy source for Europe ........... I think this really summarises everything politically in the region. Cyprus has been a member for some time now. They have behaved respectfully of all EU States an have no doubt got credibility within the EU. They have even stated that they will be appropriate towards Turkey's bit. This is the European way which leaves the Turkish government and the TC leadership looking like idiotic power machines.
