Limassol - what can i wait?

Postby X__Alien » Thu Sep 15, 2005 2:50 am

Hi. I'm from Portugal, and soon i will be an Erasmus student at the Frederick Institute in Limassol, Cyprus.

I'll be there 30th September.

I know Limassol is a tourist point, but to the people who live there, what can i expect from this place. Is it good weather these days? Should i bring a lot of clothes? LOL

Anything you find pertinent, please, post! Thanks.

Hi X_Alien

The climate of Limassol is not unlike that of say, Lisbon, but maybe just a little warmer in the Winter. Much smaller than Lisbon though!

Are you sure? Lisbon is northern and right on the Atlantic. I would guess they have a lot more rain there than here. :)

Yeah, we went their on holiday in June a couple of years back and spent the first day on the beach with jackets on. Never done that in Cyprus

Is it true that we have snow only a few miles from Limassol?

OK, so Limassol gets on average 19 inches of rain a year and Lisbon 24 inches! When I was there it seemed pretty hot!

We have snow in winter on the Troodos mountain. Thats about 35 Kilometers from Limassol. In Limassol it never snows. You don't have snow in Portugal?
