Protaras shuts in winter and is very quiet, plus it is too cool to sit by the pool/sea.

I was in Cyprus this January for 7 days.

Out of the 7 days, the first was beautiful and sunny!!! There rest were overcast with rain occassionally and thunder. The sea is a little rough, but i would imagine somewhere like fig tree bay would be pretty clam and empty!!! If it's sunny, i can't see why not you can take a dip there on a sunny day as the water up there is quite warm.

Nevertheless, dont expect it to be like the summer. Everything will be green and mildy cool. You might have more fun in the ski resort in troodos.

Weather will probably be okay but listen to the earlier posts, the only things that will be open cater for the the permanent residents of the area, not much fun for a tourist.

God luck
