Classes are also offered by the government in all public schools in Cyprus as night classes. There are hundreds of subjects to choose, from "Greek for foreigners" to "Landscape painting" and cost around 30-40 pounds PER YEAR!

The only requirement for a lesson to begin is that there are enough people interested, I believe the minimum is 15 people. If you live in a small village you may have a problem with some subjects which are not popular, in villages the minimum amount of people needed is 8-10 and not 15 like in cities. Small booklets are given out each year with lots of information but asking at a school near you should give you a better idea also.

hi dms. In larnaka many schools are involved. Usually around 20% of schools are opened for evening lessons. I'm very sorry but i have lost the small booklet which they give you with all the classes and prices. I will try and find out for you and let you know.
If you spoke Greek i could tell you to contact the ministry of education in limassol and they could give you as much information as you need, you can still do this actually since most of them speak english quite well.
If you live next to a school (any school, even junior schools) i would suggest you go there and ask a teacher or the principle. Although be careful when going in schools, simply tell an adult there that you are seeking information.

The Adult education centre that you should ring if you have any questions- such as where these schools are, or indeed anything else, is located behind franklin roosevelt street. As you come from the old part roundabout, towards the new port, you find a set of traffic lights after the st anthony church. You want to turn right, where you will find a really small sign for the adult education centre on your left just past the froutaria. unr into this road, and the centre is on your right (it just looks like a school.) The phone number is 25-877524, fax 25-306555.

thx, i was yesterday to get one brochure from the Adult Centre (unfortunatelly they are in greek), but a nice lady from there explained to me that i have to fill a membership located on the last page of the brochure and send it by fax. U have to go at the Adult Centre and ask which is the more appropiate school/high school located near to you living address and she will guide u to the nearest one (this is also something u have to write in the membership form). The classes beggins on November, and are 40cyp/year, 1 time/week (u choose the day, depends also to the school/high school).
regards/Laura
