From what I understand they're very close to the summit.
The flags of the republic of Cyprus, Mitropolis and Amochostos (from where George originates) will be displayed.

They're kindly requesting no political stuff from the media.

Latest from the CY team...

All in good condition, the doctors have given them a green light to make their Summit Bid.

So...

Tomorrow (Weds 16th) they'll aim to get back up to Camp 3.

The following day (Thurs 17th) will take them up to Camp 4 at the South Col.

They'll leave Camp 4 at 9pm CY Time for the last stage of the climb...

... jeh meh tin Voithia tou Theou!!!, they'll attempt to plant the Flag of the Republic on the Roof of the World around Dawn (CY Time) this coming Saturday 19th...!!!

Exciting news friends...

The climbers are reporting that today's climbing went well.

They have reached Camp 3 and will shortly be setting off (they say "within the hour") for Camp 4 on the South Col.

No new news today... the schedule was that they would leave Camp 4 on the wind-swept South Col for their summit bid at 9pm CY time tonight... so that should have been an hour ago.
