No sooner do the Turks announce illegal drilling as their weapon of 'peace':

.... when our Foreign Minister has them suitably covered:

Dead and buried; where it hurts the Turks the most ...

There is only a 1 in 1000 chance of finding oil there, but Yildiz said that the project has 'strategic importance' and would go ahead anyway.

I submit this to the long list of Turkish crimes against reason.

What is it about average fanatic GC and Turkish men?

Energy is the cause of war all over the world. If the snake rattles it will bite. It gas been rattling for some time. The moment drilling starts to extract gas is when it will explode. I hope some of you brave boys and girls who are so vocal here will take up positions on the front line.

Somehow I don't think so. You will be queuing for the toilet.

“We will explore our own oil and gas. I have to admit that only one in a thousand drilling explorations become successful. This particular well may fail us.....

   You think they know something already??

I mean, did the test drilling in the CY EEZ by Noble have just 1/1000 chances of success when they started? Would any serious company get into such expensive tests for so litle chancses of success? I think the f*rs are desperate.

Note the difference in approach:

when gas was located in block 12 president Christofias stressed that the find would be used for the benefit of all Cypriots, GC and TC.

When drilling was announced Eroglu stressed the reinforcing of ties with Turkey.

Different cultures, different attitudes. And these mindsets are supposed to rank equally in a BBF setup. God help us.

...what i found most amusing about Eroglu's speech was his assertion that half the benefits will be shared with the "Greeks"; as though, it seems, the Republic should be expected to share half their new found wealth with the "Turks".

You are not being fair here. He did not exactly say that did he?

He first said he will not shae until the agreement. Then he said he may share but gave no detail.

Perhaps you can tell us what percentages have been agreed in terms of share?
