Different petrol price in same brand petrol stations

Postby italiano » Fri Sep 07, 2012 2:35 pm

Here is the question with some examples....
Limassol, Petrolina Petrol Stations: touristic area, 95 octane petrol price per litre, 1.38. Limassol Petrolina Petro Stations: touristic area, 500 meters far from the previous one, 95 octane petrol price per litre, 1.35. Lukoil petrol station, opposite Crown Plaza hotel, 95 octane petrol, price per litre, 1.36. Lukoil petrol station, higway exit to Troodos, close to Orphanides supermarket, 95 octane petrol, price per litre, 1.33.
Im wonderin to know the reason about these different prices, considering that it is the same petrol station brand, and same town.....
Thank you

We get this al ot in the uk too. we are told it is to do with the distance between the refinary and the petrol garage. but i suspect foul play, they charge what they think the local population will play. petrol is always cheaper in the deprived areas.

petrol prices used to be a lot cheaper in the north. i don't know if it is still the case.

It is the cost of servicing the petrol stations which adjusts the prices slightly for brands - like rental charges for the site or local taxes. Out of the way stations probably struggle to make a profit but they are valuable to the community and so tend to charge more.

- It's the same the whole world over (probably even in oil-rich countries like Egypt etc.)

No ol'boy, 'trnc' petrol is more expensive.

Titled "We're on the list with the most expensive gasoline in the world," the newspaper "Yeni Duzen" he writes in today's publication that the occupied areas of Cyprus are among the 60 countries with the most expensive gasoline.

Referring to statistics Bloomberg, the newspaper writes that the first position is Norway, the pseudo-state located in 21st place, the Republic of Cyprus in the 38th position to the 60th and last place is Venezuela.

Erm where does the other side get their petrol from? Cause I have researched this a while back and Turkey had the most expensive petrol in the world following after Norway which is first.
