Am I on the wrong Forum

Postby Hugh janus » Sun Oct 16, 2005 6:55 pm

Having stumbled here after a Google search for Ikea & Cyprus, I get the feeling that I may be on the wrong forum.

I've recently bought a property in Northern Cyprus (it's got Turkish deeds BTW) and I was looking for furniture options and posted a question in the Ikea thread, only to be attacked by Patheticman.

So, what I'd like to know - with me buying and holidaying in N Cyprus - are my views or questions not welcome here - are most/all people on here Greek Cyprioits ?

FWIW I currently live in the UK, have only visited Cyprus once (which was 2 weeks ago) and I really do have a fat Arse.

But there is nothing to stop you coming over to the South, buying what you want to buy and taking it to the North with you :)

Hi Hugh

you must understand that for many (most!) Greek Cypriots, foreigners buying land/property in the occupied areas of Cyprus is deeply offensive.
Without getting into the rights and wrongs of the matter - this is the General Chat area - they believe it to be stolen land.

With so little legal land being available for sale (either pre-74 foreign or TC owned) most is/was owned by GC who no longer have access to it.
