Hi to everybody.
I have a Romanian Citizenship. My wife has Russian. She is pregnant and we expect baby to be born in march.
I was invited to work in Cyprus. So in 1-2 months we plan to move.
As far as I know she can apply for a visa for period of 3-6 months. But this is too little for us because of the baby. Perfect would be 9-12 motnhs. Is it possible to apply for a longer visa or to prolong it or may be smth else.
I've read that she is able to make an yellow slip, but I haven't understood yet if non-citizen of EU can apply for it.

If such theme was discussed, please give me the link to it.

I have found from the immigration office that my wife will enter with pro-visa. no sponsorship for work visa required , wife will get yellow slip. Therefore no need to exit and reenter.

They will give her a short term slip- 5 years probably but under EU law your wife can stay with you and legally work - under the directive after 5 years legal residence she should be able to permanatly stay but the Immigration do not seem to recogniose this as despite being here 8 years my wife still only gets a a 5 year slip.

Thanks for the answer, I've heard about this problem. Hope we will manage it somehow. One more little question: is she able to work in CY having Russian citizenship and the yellow slip?

yes - if she can find a job. My wife (also Russian) has done so without any problem from authorities.
